Stop doom scrolling and start joy scrolling | #47 Daily Dose of Dawn at dawn 🌞

Endless doom scrolling can quietly shape how you feel about yourself and the world. In Daily Dose of Dawn at dawn #47, Dawn Super introduces the idea of “joy scrolling”—using social media intentionally to learn, grow, and feel better instead of overwhelmed. This post explores how online content affects your emotional state, why engagement-based platforms prioritize outrage, and how small choices like following, unfollowing, and selecting “see more” or “see less” can protect your mental health. You’ll learn how to stay informed without being consumed and how to make the internet work for you instead of against you.

Stop doom scrolling and start joy scrolling – Daily Dose of Dawn #47

When the system is rigged against us, it’s time to rebel by going around it. Do you want to use your social media or have social media use you?

We’re the people who question everything, who constantly seek new information. What we might not realize is the effect that information has on us – on how we see ourselves, how we feel about our lives.

Joy scrolling is how seekers like us use the internet – to learn and grow, not get sucked into believing doom is all there is. We stay informed but with balance. We take it tough information when we’re best equipped to handle it emotionally.

“Stop hurting yourself!” has been a mindset magic phrase I’ve used since teaching myself how to detox my social media. I made this dose to realize how it helps to make that switch from doom to joy, if you haven’t already.

What you consume makes a difference. Fatal flaws, scripted drama - reels where you can’t even tell what is real – rage bait, comment bait – intentional misspellings, misstatements (lies), fake celebrity death posts – they are all about engagement.

Notice how what you’re scrolling makes you feel and what you’re seeing is anything short of – awe inspiring, educational, fun or happy making – hit the X and choose ‘see less of this.’

For the things that light you up, hit the three dots and choose ‘see more of this.’ Follow people who share quality stuff. Unfollow friends you want to keep so you can still catch up on their wall when you’re in the right headspace.

When we treat scrolling like a life university – not a historical catalog of what’s wrong with the world – we level up and expand our thinking.

About the Author

Dawn Super is a resilience coach, speaker, and writer who helps people thrive — not someday, but right now, exactly as they are. She knows firsthand what it’s like to live with lifelong health challenges, including narcolepsy, and has made it her mission to teach others how to show up for themselves with compassion, courage, and a little bit of humor and sass.
Known for her “mindset magic strategies,” Dawn brings a blend of practical tools, soulful insight, and real-talk encouragement to anyone ready to stop waiting for permission to love themselves. Her work speaks especially to those who’ve felt left out, misunderstood, or stuck on the sidelines — the misfits, the dreamers, the rebels, and the overcomers.
When she’s not coaching, creating, or writing, you might find her picking up rusty metal at the beach, virtually socializing, or laughing along at life. Dawn believes that self-love isn’t just a buzzword — it’s a radical act of rebellion in a world that profits from your doubt.
