Struggling? Overdose on joy #68 Daily Dose of Dawn at dawn (resilience, overcome, neurospicy, happy)

When you're struggling, overdose on joy.

It’s Thanksgiving week in the USA, and if you’re watching this, thank yourself. Expanding your thinking helps you feel more comfortable being you - and that’s the fastest way to thrive, whatever thrive looks like for you.

I struggled for decades. I didn’t feel truly happy until age 41. Before that, my happiness was conditional:

If I felt better… if I wasn’t so broke… if I had fewer problems… if I had a loving partner.

Then I could be happy.

But feeling bad about everything didn’t fix anything. It didn’t help my relationships, my health, my money, or my peace.

You have two choices:

Sit in the hard truth of what isn’t working and slowly cook yourself like a frog in a pot…

or focus on you.

I created a “yellow room of healing” in my mind - sunflowers, happy bees, and soft places for my spirit to land. When your mind becomes a nice place to be, you can retreat into it and refill yourself when life gets chaotic.

Looking back from my place of thriving, I can see that pouring into myself instead of trying to fix the unfixable helped me get firmly on my own side.

So when you’re struggling, suffering, or facing something you can’t change - overdose on joy.

It buoys you through the storm.

Happy is a hero if you let it be.

Dawn Super is a resilience coach, speaker, and writer who helps people thrive — not someday, but right now, exactly as they are. She knows firsthand what it’s like to live with lifelong health challenges, including narcolepsy, and has made it her mission to teach others how to show up for themselves with compassion, courage, and a little bit of humor and sass.
Known for her “mindset magic strategies,” Dawn brings a blend of practical tools, soulful insight, and real-talk encouragement to anyone ready to stop waiting for permission to love themselves. Her work speaks especially to those who’ve felt left out, misunderstood, or stuck on the sidelines — the misfits, the dreamers, the rebels, and the overcomers.
When she’s not coaching, creating, or writing, you might find her picking up rusty metal at the beach, virtually socializing, or laughing along at life. Dawn believes that self-love isn’t just a buzzword — it’s a radical act of rebellion in a world that profits from your doubt.
