Healing is not an all or nothing thing – Daily Dose of Dawn #35
Having narcolepsy, I used to bristle at the word healing. It can get better or worse but it never goes away.
Then, one day I realized – healing is not an all or nothing thing. We heal in bits all the time. Mentally, emotionally, financially, generationally.
I’ve healed from my childhood trauma, healed a broken heart – several times, healed from a life-threatening skin issue…
I found this very encouraging and it opened the door to me seeing just how much healing I could squeak out in this lifetime.
If you haven’t followed me for a bit – I don’t have any happy memories from before I had my kids in my late 20s. Everything in my life was clouded by drama and trauma. Until I was 41, my default was miserable.
So, I want to tell you – no matter how far behind you feel, you can start today to make changes in your life.
In changing my own life, I discovered four stages to learning –
1. Notice something is off, needs to change
2. Go out and learn some strategies to try and change it
3. Practice the strategies that seem doable for you
4. Become the change you wanted to see
Dig into you and heal what is possible in what is holding you back. The key is in your pocket. Healing starts when you choose to use it. If you need some guidance, let’s chat. Thriving despite adversity is my specialty.
