Do you keep Spinning your wheels like it's part of your fitness routine?
Having the same conversation 15 times in your own head?
Repeating what you want to say to someone over and over in your head because you can't let the words out of your mouth? Shhhh.
I call this looping and in addition to triggering anxiety, it can trigger a cortisol release, which means stress.
Spinning your wheels just exhausts you and you get nowhere.
When it happens, you can rescue yourself. Best thing that helps me with this is singing - or having an unrelated conversation with someone - essentially 'drowing out' the loop. Sometimes that's enough to snap me out of it, sometimes i just need to nap. Naps are the ultimate reset and very good for reducing stress.
