Learn how to use music to ctrl alt del your nervous system and regulate emotions during times of extreme stress with resilience coach Dawn Super's 3 practical strategies. This guide is for anyone who's had enough of stress, war, politics, and nationwide grip stress - and needs a break from being frazzled.

Discover why music regulates the nervous system faster than almost anything else (especially for neurospicy, previously traumatized people), and how to use it as an emotional regulation tool during tough times. Includes three music strategies: getting loud with mood music (Metallica for anger, Michael Bublé for feeling good, Disney for joy), creating a 10-hour positive playlist where every song makes you say "OMG I love this song," and keeping calming sounds low in your ears like personal elevator music (sound baths, OM chanting at 432 Hz, classical music) to soothe your brain and lower cortisol. Perfect for anyone forgetting their coping tools when stressed to the max and needing quick ways to take themselves out of the game so they can get back in.

Music as a Stress Buster: Ctrl Alt Del Your Nervous System

A good song can take you out so you can get back in the game.

This dose is for anyone who's just had enough - stress, war, politics - and needs a break from being frazzled.

This is the Daily Dose of Dawn at Dawn - videos designed to expand your thinking.

So why do we want to think about this? Because it's easy to forget the things that help us, especially when we're stressed to the max.

And music is great for everyday stressors, but even more so when we're in the middle of nationwide grip stress.

It's impossible to get through a day without hearing something awful lately, no matter how much you're protecting yourself from outside information.

Welcome in, lovely dosers, to this conversation about supporting ourselves emotionally through tough times.

As a neurospicy, previously traumatized person, I've learned that music regulates my nervous system faster than almost anything else. And you might need that tool to help you right now, too.

So here is your loving reminder: Your favorite jam can help you ctrl alt delete your nervous system and get you aligned with your life and goals again.

Here are three quick ways you can use music to set yourself up to help you take a break:

Number 1: Take yourself out of the game by getting loud.

Play some mood music in your headphones. How do you want to feel?

Get the anger out with some Metallica. Have Michael Bublé remind you that you're feeling good. Or go full-on Disney with "Happy Little Working Song" from the movie Enchanted.

They use music in movies to get you to feel the scene because that's how music works. So hack into life with these awesome cheat codes.

Number 2: Create a 10-hour positive music playlist.

This takes a hot minute to set up, but is totally worth it.

Let's face it - some days are just way harder than others, and it's so much easier to get through a day with encouragement. And your favorite uplifting songs can do that for you.

Imagine a radio station where every song that plays has you going, "OMG, I love this song!"

Yeah, it's like that.

Number 3: Keep it in your ears really low, like your own personal elevator music.

By keeping calm noises in your ear - whether it's a sound bath, OM chanting, classical music - the brain loves to be soothed.

I like 432 Hz.

I'll do this while I'm working and I still need to hear people. And that way, if I need to bring down my cholesterol and my cortisol levels, I close my eyes and I let the music flood my brain.

Hey, if you find you've been acting out of character lately because of your stress levels, check out Dose 126 about why you're not acting like yourself under pressure.
