Are you drama bonding or joy bonding?

This video is for anyone living a complicated life, surrounded by drama, or a pot stirrer that wants to stop.

This is the Daily Dose of Dawn at Dawn - videos designed to expand your thinking.

So why do we want to learn this? It's easy to not realize you're a drama bonder. And the way that we connect affects the quality of our relationships.

Welcome back to my Happy Matters Collective. If you're new here, thanks for joining us.

I've actually lost friends to complaining about my life.

And I heard a study once - I call it "one of the 11" - where they brought people into the room and exposed them to someone who was complaining in order to see how long it took them to bring down the mood of the entire room.

They had to get up to 11 neutral people just waiting in the room before that one negative Nelly didn't get the whole room complaining about something.

So it's natural for us to complain. And if we want to get away from complaining, we need to live more intentionally that way.

Outside of a few key people in your life, nobody cares about your complaints. Everyone has their own complaints.

So when you connect and complain, it becomes a cascade of drama of what you've each experienced since the last time you saw each other. "Oh, and then they did this and then they did that."

And people tend to match what you have on offer.

So if you're mindful about joy bonding, the next time you connect with your friend, you can share all the good things that happened since the last time you connected with them.

When we bring in our own joy, we help others also think of their own joys. And then we're all sharing our joys in living Happy Matters. And then the world becomes a better place.

Stop thinking about it and be the change you want to see in the world.
