Are You Your Own Best Friend? Why This Is So Hard (and Why It Matters) | #122
Being your own best friend sounds simple, but for many people it feels surprisingly hard. In this Daily Dose of Dawn at dawn, empowerment coach Dawn Super explores why so many of us struggle to be on our own side and how learning to treat yourself like a bestie can bring more comfort, self-support, and emotional steadiness during difficult times.

Why is it so hard to be our own bestie?
This video is for anyone who does not think of themselves as their own best friend but wants to — or anyone who needs a reminder now and again.
Hello, people pleasers.
This is the Daily Dose of Dawn at dawn, videos designed to expand your thinking.
So, why do we want to learn this?
Because life and society in general make us second guess what being on our own side even looks like.
How did this come into my awareness?
I was not my own best friend. I had to teach myself how to do that. That’s why it’s included in How to Be on Your Own Side. One of the days is getting connected to the fact that you are your own bestie.
So many of us put other people ahead of ourselves.
We wouldn’t think twice to grab a blanket or a glass of water or a pillow for your best friend’s neck with some fuzzy socks. That book she’s been planning to read. The real bestie treatment.
But when it comes to ourselves, we’re like, “Okay, Gina, you can get some chocolate and an hour of TikToks.”
No, bestie. No.
Get yourself some comfort items. Get some things that make you feel comfortable.
And guess what?
You feel more comfy.
It’s not going to change anything other than the fact that you’re giving yourself some comfort.
And those little things stitch together and help you hold your own hand through the hard stuff.
